Shipping and Returns
Domestic shipping policy
All orders are processed within 2 to 3 business days after receiving your order confirmation
email (excluding weekends and holidays). You will receive another notification when your order
has shipped.
Shipping charges for your order will be calculated and displayed at checkout.
We currently use the United States Postal Service (USPS) as our sole shipping method. When
you place an order for an item that is in stock, we will estimate shipping costs for you based on
the item’s weight. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be
rounded up to the next full pound.
If you have an order that needs to arrive on a timelier schedule, please select express shipping at checkout.
In-store pickup
You can skip the shipping fees with free local pickup at our Reading Room located at 284 Forest
Avenue, Laguna Beach, CA. After placing your order and selecting local pickup at checkout,
your order will be prepared and ready for pick up within 1 to 2 business days. We will send you
a text message or email when your order is ready along with instructions.
Our in-store pickup hours are 10:00 am to 2:00 pm Monday through Saturday. Please have your
order confirmation email with you when you come.
International shipping
We do not currently offer international shipping.
How do I check the status of my order?
When your order has shipped, you will receive an email notification from us which will include a
tracking number you can use to check its status. Please allow 48 hours for the tracking
information to become available.
If you haven’t received your order within 5 days of receiving your shipping confirmation email,
please contact us at readingroom284@gmail.com with your name and order number, and we
will investigate it for you.
Returns Policy
You may return most new, unopened items within 14 days of delivery for a full refund of the
product value minus the original shipping cost. When we process your return, the original
payment method you used to place the order will be credited. Please allow one to two billing
cycles for the refund credit to appear on your monthly credit card statement.
All returns require the original receipt. You may return or exchange for credit only (excluding
shipping costs) any book or non-book item (unless notated at purchase) in its original condition
within 14 days of receiving your order. Non-book items must also include all original tags and (if
applicable) be unopened in the original packaging.
For all returns/exchanges, the customer is responsible for the costs of return shipping. We
recommend you return your items using an insured and traceable method. We are not
responsible for packages lost or damaged during the return transit.
Special order items that have been ordered specifically at your request may not be returned.
If you receive your order and find an item to be missing, incorrect or damaged please contact
the store within 7 days, so that we may address and resolve the issue as quickly as possible for
you.
